He Hears

“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.”

Psalm 5:3, NKJV

The Hebrew word for “hear” is shama’ which means to listen closely, attentively, diligently—to regard.

Amazing! The Creator of the universe listens closely as we offer words to Him. He delights in hearing your voice, and mine. I imagine Him leaning in close as we praise or cry out to Him.

“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You…”

I appreciate the modeling of morning prayer shown in Scripture. Without being dogmatic, I’ll share that having a time of communing with Him in the morning has been helpful for me. Before facing the events, obstacles, trials and triumphs of any given day, it helps to turn my heart toward the One who sees and knows all. I can certainly notice a difference in my mood, responses, and general at-ease-ness when I rush into the day without making margin for this time with Him.

How about you? Do you take time each day to commune with your Creator? He loves the sound of your voice. 🤍
